I am an ecological designer working in the field of landscape architecture in the Netherlands. I went to Amherst College in Massachusetts and combined studies in environmental science with fine arts and philosophy. I then went on to intern at Max’s Pot in Austin with Pliny Fisk and also with Sim van der Ryn in Sausalito, California. For several years I focused on green building and garden design before going back to grad school. After taking a Master’s in Design for the Environment at Chelsea College in London, I stayed in Europe to pursue sustainability and design, eventually settling in Amsterdam.
I am seeking to actively engage others in discussion around creating visions of a verdant future based on sharpened ideas about ecological management, living systems, and the inevitable cross pollination between professional fields. The goal is moving past sustainability to fully embrace design that is regenerative of human and natural systems.
